Wheelchair Vans, Wheelchair Lifts, and More for Veterans
Auto Mobility Sales is proud to offer access to many VA programs for veterans with disabilities. These programs may offer veterans the chance at mobility equipment, wheelchair vans, handicap accessible vehicles, wheelchair lifts, and scooter lifts at reduced or no cost.
Veterans - What Auto Mobility Sales Does For Them
According to the United States Department of Veteran Affairs (www.va.gov), of the 25 million veterans currently alive, nearly three of every four served during a war or an official period of hostility. Additionally, about a quarter of the nation’s population -- approximately 70 million people -- are potentially eligible for VA benefits and services because they are veterans, family members or survivors of veterans.
Auto Mobility Sales would like to take this opportunity to say “thank you” to you and all of our veterans for allowing all of us to enjoy the freedoms we have every day as a result of your sacrifices. We have established an adaptive equipment maintenance program honoring our disabled veterans and we would also like to share some valuable Veteran’s Administration benefits information with you.
Adaptive Vehicle Veterans’ Administration Benefits You May be Eligible For:
- The Veterans’ Administration offers a one-time automobile grant of $11,000. If you haven’t used it yet, you can apply it towards a handicap accessible vehicle or wheelchair van.
- 100% Service Connected Veterans are eligible for two handicap van conversions every four years or one every two years.
- Veterans that trade their wheelchair van in every two years typically have less out-of-pocket expense getting into a new wheelchair accessible van than a veteran that trades at a later date.
- The Veterans’ Administration will allow for the purchase of a pre-owned handicap accessible van using their depreciation schedule for reimbursement.
Below is a hypothetical situation for explanatory purposes only:
A veteran trading in, for instance, a 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan with a Braun Entervan II handicap van conversion with less than 24,000 miles could potentially get the following:
|
Purchase a New 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan SE |
$26,600 |
|
Rebate |
($2,000) |
|
Mobility Rebate |
($1,000) |
|
Trade 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan with an Entervan II Conversion |
($23,600) |
|
Out-of-Pocket expense to the veteran |
$0 |
|
Lowered Floor Conversion |
$22,900 |
|
VA-reimbursement for conversion |
($22,900) |
|
Out-of-Pocket expense to the veteran |
$0 |
Additionally, since veterans should be eligible for reimbursement from the Veterans’ Administration for some of the OEM equipment on the handicap van, such as power windows, power locks and air conditioning – that’s a $800-$3,000 value with no cost to you, the disabled veteran.

Veterans Operational Maintenance for Handicap Vans and Disabled Equipment
In appreciation of the great sacrifices made by the men and women of our armed services, we have established the program, which provides free operational maintenance on adaptive equipment for any disabled veteran.
Customers are immediately eligible if they have received automotive handicap equipment funded by the Veteran’s Administration. While VA benefits currently cover repairs to adaptive equipment, operational maintenance is not covered. To ensure our disabled veterans have the safest and most reliable handicap vehicle modifications and equipment possible, Auto Mobility Sales will cover the costs of operational maintenance through our VetsMobileOps program.
How Does It Work?
- An inspection of your adaptive equipment
- Cleaning of your adaptive equipment
- Lubricating any parts, if necessary
- Adjusting any parts, if necessary
A detailed operational maintenance form will be provided to the veteran that will contain a written description of the work performed and a list of any items that may require future attention on your handicap accessible vehicle.
How Do You Schedule an Appointment?*
To schedule an appointment, please call 877-505-9067 and let one of our professional technicians perform our free operational maintenance check-up as our way of saying “thank you” for all you’ve done for our country.
* Please note that it is NOT necessary for the adaptive equipment to have originally been purchased from Auto Mobility Sales.
